More about the series Advanced...

Omegon advanced N 203/1200 Dobsonian telescope - a silky smooth ride for your trip into the universe

Treat your eyes to a new window into the universe. The Omegon Dobsonian telescope offers clear views of planets, nebulae and galaxies. Even at high magnifications, navigating the rocker box mount to any object in the night sky is quick and easy!

The advantages in a nutshell:

  • get started immediately - complete telescope plus accessories
  • bright 203mm optics for observing a wealth of deep sky objects
  • high-quality parabolic mirror providing a sharp image
  • new friction system for balancing with heavy eyepieces

The optics - high contrast and sharp images thanks to the parabolic mirror

Good optics are the heart of any telescope - the 203mm parabolic main mirror here provides a sharp image right out to the edge of the field of view, for a visual experience where you might forget that you are still on Earth and are only 'travelling' with your eyes.

A journey into the past - getting into the world of galaxies

203mm of aperture lets you enter a whole new domain - that of the 'deep sky objects', or DSOs. You can observe globular clusters thousands of lightyears away, sparkling like a million diamonds in your telescope. Or even galaxies - 'islands of stars' like our Milky Way.

You can observe the following objects with the telescope

  • globular clusters
  • planetary nebulae
  • galaxies
  • open clusters
  • hydrogen nebulae
  • planets, comets and much, much more.

Omegon Dobsonians open a new door to the universe - the main mirror in this telescope gathers 75% more light than a 150mm telescope. You can explore hundreds of objects in the night sky.

Crayford focuser - so you always have a sharp image.

Every Omegon advanced Dobsonian telescope comes supplied with a 2-inch Crayford focuser. It is what holds your eyepiece in place, which you then observe through. Simply rotate the focus ring to set the precise point of focus for your eye. Multiple ball-bearings ensure millimetre-accurate focusing.

The mount - even heavy accessories are no problem for this mount.

The 143mm polyamide altitude bearings and Teflon pads for azimuth mean moving your telescope in any direction can be done at the push of a finger - being able to track your object easily is of paramount importance. This is particularly important when using high magnifications, where objects will quickly move out of the field view.

New friction system - even for heavy accessories

There is a problem with many Dobsonian telescopes when heavy eyepieces are used. The instrument becomes 'top heavy' and this cannot easily be compensated for. The newly developed friction system means that using heavy eyepieces is no longer a problem. A handy central screw is used to balance the telescope and accessories in seconds.

Explore the starry night sky with your own eyes using this 203mm Dobsonian telescope. Discover countless astronomical objects, including the planets in our solar system. The telescope has only two parts, meaning it can be set up in just minutes ready to use for your next night excursion.
