The telescopes in the Skyline Base range are geared towards price-conscious beginners and is also a great gift for young natural scientists!
These telescopes come with an intuitively operated alt-azimuth mount which can be used to easily orientate the telescope towards the desired celestial object. The included aluminium tripod is very lightweight and provides a practical shelf for accessories.
The N 102/700 telescope offers a sufficient aperture for observing bright nebulae and galaxies, e.g. the Orion nebula or our neighbouring galaxy in the Andromeda constellation. Globular clusters, densely packed collections of hundreds and thousands of stars, are especially impressive!
This Newtonian telescope delivers an image with excellent colour purity. Due to its 700 millimetre focal length, relatively high magnification is possible. Both properties can take you on extended tours to the Moon or to discover Saturn’s famous rings. Jupiter’s cloud bands and its four large moons can also be really clearly observed.
The AZ-2 Mount:
This mount is very popular with beginners in astronomy as it is very simple to operate. The entire telescope is very easy to move around in both azimuth and elevation. For beginners, it has the advantage that they do not have to worry about first aligning the telescope before use. Setting up the telescope is hence very quick and straightforward: Simply erect the tripod and mount, attach the telescope to it, and you are ready to go! The fine adjusters can be locked in both axes so that objects remain in the field of view once found. The mount is attached to a height-adjustable aluminium tripod.
