A coma corrector is a corrective lens for Newtonian telescopes. This type of telescope can cause distortion of the image at the edge of the field of view, making stars look like little comets. This aberration is therefore called 'coma'.
This GPU coma corrector, optical design by Gyulai Pal in Hungary (GPU Optics), is one of the best correctors for astrophotography using high-speed Newtonian telescopes.
- 4-element design for exceptional image quality in the field and along the axes
- Ideally suited to Newtonian telescopes with aperture ratios of f/4 - delivers very good results from f/3.5 to f/6
- High tilting tolerance
- Focal length remains unaltered
- M48 thread camera connection
The corrector can be screwed on to the focuser for improved stability and accuracy.
Optimal distance between M48 thread and camera sensor:
The optimal distance depends on the Newtonian telescope's focal length
- Focal length up to 600 mm: 53 mm distance
- Focal length from 610 mm: 55 mm distance
