The GEM45 has an integrated electronic polarscope, known as iPolar.
This tool guarantees precision alignment for your telescope, even when Polaris is not visible.
The GEM45 NUC has a dual prism clamp which takes Losmandy-style and Vixen-style rails.
Furthermore, the mount has iOptron’s low-energy-consumption, ultra-quiet stepper motor drive system, already found in other iOptron mounts.
Computer-assisted functions
The iOptron GEM45 mount uses Go2Nova® 8407 hand controller to navigate the night sky. This unbelievable technology works with the mount's object database of 212,000 entries to assist observers in finding celestial objects!

- The integrated electronic polarscope, iPolar, makes perfectly orientating the mount northwards child’s play, even when the Pole Star is not visible! Please note: A laptop or PC is required to use the iPolar.
- Large dials allow the motor to be detached from the gears so that the axes can move freely, even when wearing gloves.
- Its internal cable management prevents tangled cables or cables being pulled out.
- The mount’s newly designed Universal Self-Centering Saddle takes Losmandy-style and Vixen-style prism rails and allows the telescope to be precisely aligned.
- The CNC machined casing not only looks chic, it is also very durable.
The GoTo computer controls also include modern Go2Nova 8407+ hand controller with integrated heating to keep the large display free from dew. The object database contains over 212,000 objects! Furthermore, the controls feature their own 32-channel GPS, saving you from constantly having to enter the date, location and time. Of course, the mount also has a ST-4 port for autoguiders.
Its very quiet operation using stepper-motors is ideal for observing from your balcony and uses relatively little electricity.
