This tripod is equipped with a two-way fluid panhead. The single handle makes moving the panhead easy, and an oversized knob adjusts the tension and locks it in place. A quick release changing plate with standard 1/4-20 photo thread allows easy mounting of spotting scopes, binoculars, cameras or small telescopes to the tripod. The plate locks into place when inserted into the quick release coupler.
The centre column of the TrailSeeker tripod is not only used for height adjustment. There is a retractable balance hook at the bottom of the centre column. Especially on windy days, this provides the necessary stability. Simply hang something heavy like a backpack on the hook and you will be amazed at the difference. When the hook is not needed, it retracts into the centre column where it will not get in the way.
Two of the legs are padded so you can carry it more comfortably and touch it without gloves in cold weather. The legs are fitted with rubber feet to prevent slipping on slick or wet surfaces.
Other features include bubble levels, located both on the top of the tripod and on the side of the panhead, and a tripod carrying bag. The bag is the perfect place to store your tripod when not in use and is easy to transport with the shoulder strap.
