Product description

Seben`s high performance 700mm Reflector Telescope surprises because of its almost unbelievably excellent cost effectiveness and enables a simple entrance into the field of astronomy. It is perfect for beginners, nevertheless it offers enough power reserves to fulfil the interests of advanced hobby astronomers.

Seben`s 700mm Reflector Telescope will carry you on a discovery journey to far away comets, planets and stars and will give you the opportunity to “reach” for the stars. Enormous performance data is created by Seben through the use of high-quality components. Extremely detailed sharpness and contrast distinguish this coated Reflector Telescope, which satisfied the buyers of Seben Astronomy for years. Because of its up-to-date construction in combination with its high performance 31.7mm (1.25”) accessory-holes, you are able to equip Seben's 700mm Reflector Telescope with nearly every available accessory. The following 31.7mm (1.25”) extra accessory is all part of the “Big-Pack“. Whereas you usually have to spend a lot of extra money for it with other manufacturers, there is no cent to be paid extra. The added 31.7mm (1.25”) Moon Filter reduces the Moon's glare, which is produced by reflected sunlight and normally washes out most of the craters and other surface details from view. The additionally supplied 31.7mm (1.25”) Barlow Lens enables a doubling of the magnification of the inserted eyepiece. The 31.7mm (1.25”) Upside Down Lens produces an upright and side correct image. This is particularly of importance for terrestrial viewing, because usually the image would appear upside down. Because of it's lower power the 5x24 Finder Scope makes it easier to locate celestial objects. With the provided 31.7mm (1.25”) eyepieces (20mm, 12.5mm, 6mm and 4mm) the following magnifications can be achieved without further accessories having to be bought expensively: 36x, 56x, 70x, 112x, 117x, 175x, 234x and 350x. The extremely stable, vertically-adjustable Tripod enables best observation conditions, especially if you want to shift from celestial to terrestrial viewing or vice versa. Furthermore we want to accentuate the Altazimuth Mount of the telescope, which enables an easier tracking of celestial objects as they move across the night sky.

Our expert comment:

Compare: A similar telescope which is better value for money is the Omegon N 76/700 AZ-1. You also benefit from a comprehensive accessory kit for getting you started in astronomy.

Seben telescopes are aimed completely at selling in the lower price bracket, which, in our opinion, is unfortunately clearly reflected in their quality. On the plus side however, there is a very wide range of accessories available, but these also tend to be of the most basic sort which can be produced.

We therefore recommend beginners consider carefully as to whether they should perhaps invest a little more and buy equipment that they can enjoy using somewhat longer.
