Binoculars are focused by focusing on the object, or rather the eyes of the observer.

Central focusing
The sharpness is adjusted via a central focusing wheel.
Central wheel
The focus for both eyepieces can be adjusted simultaneously via a central wheel. The focus can be quickly adjusted from near to far.
Single eyepiece focusing
The eyepieces are focused individually. This keeps the focus fixed.
