Leica APO-Televid 82W + 25-50x WW variable eyepiece
The APO-Televid 82 delivers superb optical performance for brilliant insights into nature that are rich in detail and contrast - from dawn until dusk.
The combination of the apochromatic optics with their new FL glass and the 82 mm front lens diameter increase the light yield, compared to the previous models, by more than 6%!
The eye piece is fast bayonet mounted and has a magnification of 25x to 50x. It has a very wide angle viewing area, which gives the user a unusually wide field view. The object you are viewing is not only magnified, but also the surrounding area and thus its context can also be observed exactly.
You can now also take a "scoped" photo of your favourite subject easily using an adapter designed specifically for the LEICA D-LUX4 digital camera.

For the first time, a unique variable wide-angle eyepiece now complements the eyepiece range. Its performance data speaks for itself : 25 - 50 x WW ASPH with a subjective field of view of more than 60° across the entire zoom range. Consequently, Leica enables viewing experiences which are unique on this scale.
The newly developed interchangeable bayonet system has an integrated, automatic eyepiece lock, which fixes all eyepieces securely to the scope. Thanks to the entirely new construction of the optical system, the eyepiece's focal length is now also independent of the 65 mm or 82 mm scope being used, and is retained when the eyepieces are changed. The eyepiece has new, rubberised function elements and comfortable rotating eyecups, which significantly increases comfort when viewing. As a result, the eyepiece is particularly good to get hold of and also easy to handle when wearing gloves. The eyepiece is also waterproof up to 17ft (5m) plus, to maintain peak performance and prevent fogging, it is nitrogen filled.
Leica Extender 1.8x
If you want to see the fascinating details of nature in all their glory, you need to get as close as possible. With this in mind, Leica has developed the 1.8x extender for Leica APO-Televid spotting scopes with angled view. In combination with the Leica eyepiece, it enables magnifications of 45 to 90 times. Thanks to this unprecedented extension of the zoom range, unique animal, nature and astronomical observations are possible.
The "Closer to Nature" package from Leica also includes the Gitzo Mountaineer tripod (Series 2, GT2542). The Mountaineer family from premium manufacturer Gitzo comprises universal carbon tripods that are characterised by particularly high torsional rigidity and extremely low weight. The Gitzo Mountaineer tripod with 4 leg segments offers a perfect balance between stability and lightness. The Gitzo 2-way fluid tilt head (Series 2), also included in the "Closer to Nature" package, is characterised by quick and efficient locking, yet remains particularly small and light.
