Specifies the edge length of the mostly square pixels that make up a camera sensor.
CCD and CMOS chips are not a simple surface, but are composed of many and often millions of light-sensitive boxes: the pixels.
Each pixel has a specific size, expressed in microns with a unit of µm. A single pixel with a size of 5µm corresponds to 0.005 millimetres.
