Solar Filters for Sigma 150-600 Objective ND3.8

Solar filters guarantee safe and high-contrast observation and photography of the sun. The filters are attached in front of the lens hood. They only allow 1/100,000 (ND5) or 1/6,700 (ND 3.8) of the sunlight to pass through. The rest is reflected and does not even reach the inside of the lens.

What is the difference between ND 3.8 and ND 5.0? The ND 3.8 filter film allows about 16 times as much light to pass through as the ND 5.0 film. The latter can therefore also be used visually. The ND 3.8 film, on the other hand, is intended exclusively for photography. Never look directly at the sun through the ND 3.8 film!

The ND 3.8 film is used for photographing the sun with long focal lengths, where the visually suitable ND 5.0 film is already too dark and therefore causes the exposure times to be too long.

The sun appears approximately as bright as the moon. You will be able to see all the structures of the sun's photosphere, such as sunspots, bright flare areas or, with a slightly larger aperture, the granulation of the sun's surface.

The filter is simply placed over the lens and fixed in place. This guarantees a secure hold. The frame is printed from high-quality UV-resistant special PLA.
