Armasight Prometheus thermal imaging cameras
These thermal imaging cameras are suitable for observing at great distance and, due to the short minimum focus distance, you can also look for heat sources at short range. It features the most up-to-date FLIR Tau 2 VOx microbolometer core. Thanks to its monocular design, you can keep your “aiming eye” closed so that when you then look through your rifle scope you must not first adapt to the darkness.
Thermal Imaging technology enables its use in total darkness because it converts heat radiation into an image, instead of relying on light reflection from objects. This also allows its use in fog, snow, dust and heavy rainfall. Ever more security authorities and military organisations are using these thermal cameras. Due to the elimination of IR emitters which are often used in classic night vision devices, the risk of being detected is greatly reduced.
It is possible to digitally zoom the image, thus allowing details to be displayed with additional magnification. Thanks to the various colour modes, you can set up the display to best suit your needs. Using the video output, you can optionally connect a video recorder, and later evaluate your observations and share them with family and friends. The robust housing made of CNC machined aviation aluminum alloys is watertight.
The Armasight Prometheus is the latest and most technologically advanced family of thermal imaging devices in monocular design on the market today.
The Prometheus product range is based on the latest FLIR Tau 2 VOx microbolometer core technology. In this product range the models are distinguished by their resolution and the image cycle rate (Hertz). In addition, the models have different focal lengths and front lens diameters. The Prometheus is non-cooled and can be operated by day or night.
Thermal imaging technology enables objects to be distinguished through snow, dust, smoke, fog or mist. Since the thermal imaging technology functions without IR emitters, you are almost completely invisible when observing animals or humans.
