More about the series Gimbal Head...
How is it possible to move really heavy telephoto lenses as easily as a feather? With a gimbal suspension mounted on a sturdy tripod! There are several names for this useful instrument, which is particularly common in the USA, where it is called a gimbal head. In German, the technical term Kardankopf is probably the most accurate, although many photographers simply refer to it as Affenschaukel (monkey swing).
Leofoto PG-2L – Foldable gimbal head for heavy telephoto lenses & dynamic subjects
The Leofoto PG-2L is the perfect choice for photographers who work with long focal lengths and want to track fast-moving subjects – for example, at sporting events, in nature observation or when shooting reportages with heavy equipment.
Lightweight, strong & mobile
Despite its high load capacity of up to 25 kg, the PG-2L is particularly compact to transport thanks to its foldable design – ideal for tours or air travel with limited luggage space.
New quick-release coupling with safety lock
The redesigned quick-release coupling with safety lock ensures that your camera is securely fixed in place, even with large telephoto lenses.
Accessory connections & panorama options
The side swing arm has integrated threaded holes for attaching accessories such as monitors, microphones or GPS receivers. A panorama scale and a spirit level facilitate precise alignment for single and multi-line panoramas.
Leofoto uses high-quality 6061-T6 aluminium alloy with magnesium and silicon as alloy components for the metal parts. This corrosion-resistant material is characterised by high strength and good toughness. The yield strength is comparable to that of structural steel. All parts are milled from solid material on state-of-the-art CNC machines and are therefore significantly more stable than cast parts. Leofoto makes no compromises here either !
