Not compatible with the Celestron Edge HD 9.25 x0.7 reducer
Review by F. D. on 10.08.2026 10:42:57( 3 / 5 )
This adapter works; no complaint about it. Does what it says on the box.
On assembly, be sure to keep the orange ring in place otherwise the mirror focuser will slip out of the adapter (I was lucky to have seen a video mentioning that before purchasing). It is not obvious.
The drawbacks are:
- it is rather bulky on the rear train
- it is not easy to disengage for temporary manual control and adjustment
- it is incompatible with the x0.7 reducer of the Celstron Edge HD 9.25
The last point is most important: you will not be able to have both together out of the box, no matter in which order you place them (reducer first, adapter second or vice versa).
You may be lucky if the threads of the reducer or the telescope get shifter by 15 degrees-ish but in general, the adapter and reducer overlap.
I had to mill the focus adapter (shave off 3mm) to be able to fit them together.
I think this is an important use-case since many Edge HD owners consider or have the 0.7 reducer.
IMHO, the Pegasus Astro focuser and adapter is slimmer, lower profile and lighter.
