Push-to mount with high-resolution encoders and optional digital object positioning
The Rowan Engineering AZ75 is a high-quality, exceptionally robust alt-azimuth mount for visual observation with telescopes weighing up to 15 kg per side. Its fully CNC-milled and black anodised construction combines low weight with high mechanical stability and precise bearings.
For particularly convenient object positioning, the AZ75 is equipped with high-resolution Renishaw encoders offering 128,000 steps per axis and a Nexus DSC Pro WiFi unit. This allows the movements of both axes to be precisely tracked and objects to be easily located using the digital reticle display. The telescopes are moved manually – the AZ75 operates as a smooth-running push-to mount without a motor drive.

Adjustable friction clutches on both axes enable smooth and even movement. The 32 mm-thick aluminium axes run on high-quality ball and tapered roller bearings, ensuring smooth operation even with heavy telescopes. A locking mechanism on the altitude axis also makes changing eyepieces easier.
Weighing just 4.1 kg, the AZ75 combines a high load-bearing capacity with good portability. Depending on the configuration, the mount can be fitted with two V-brackets, a counterweight system and a pan-tilt handle. It attaches to a tripod via a 3/8" photographic thread.
