Now new: The well-known ClassicBall 5 is now available in an upside-down version.
The ClassicBall 5 II is now the second ball head from NOVOFLEX after the CB3 II that can be rotated 180°. This allows precise horizontal levelling via the ball with the aid of the spirit level integrated in the base. Version II is equipped with a corresponding 360° scale. Now you have the ideal entry point into panoramic photography.
As an innovative world first in ball head design, the ClassicBall 5 II offers the following additional features:
- Three 90° portrait format openings for the ball neck
- Reproducible and locked friction presetting at any time thanks to the new AFC system (advanced friction control)
- No confusing search for friction, locking and panorama knobs
- absolutely no change in the position of the ball when locked, thanks to a completely new internal design
Even at first glance, the ClassicBall 5 II impresses with its extremely precise and stable workmanship in a discreet matt titanium look. The full metal construction and the use of state-of-the-art polymer materials are in line with the well-known NOVOFLEX product philosophy. A first in ballheads, three 90° openings for the ball neck significantly increase the vertical adjustment options of the head. Crucially, the three 90° vertical openings do not compromise the stability of the ClassicBall in any way.
The ClassicBall was developed in response to the demand from many professional photographers for a precisely adjustable and repeatable friction setting (pre-braking) of the ball. NOVOFLEX achieves this by using the innovative AFC system, which locks the friction setting on the blue adjustment ring in the centre of the ballhead. This allows the photographer to set the correct pre-braking of the ball before even attaching the camera-lens unit. The previous trial and error is no longer necessary, and even extremely heavy telephoto lenses can be handled with ease. Unlike other ballheads of this design, the ClassicBall clamps the ball without any change in position when locked. This advantage is particularly appreciated by macro and telephoto photographers who need millimetre-precise adjustment of the image section.
A built-in 360° panorama rotation and two camera threads (1/4" and 3/8") are standard features of the ClassicBall. All adjustment elements of the ClassicBall have been optimised for use in difficult conditions. Even in cold weather, photographers can easily adjust and control all functions while wearing gloves. The permanently grease-free bearing of the ball also ensures reliable use in fine sand or salt water environments. The daily experiences and handling requirements of professional photographers have been incorporated into the design of the ClassicBall.
NOVOFLEX has not made the slightest compromise in terms of the stability and vibration behaviour of the ballhead.
