One rule of every successful hunter is not to disturb their hunting grounds unless absolutely necessary. Extending the battery life of your wildlife camera is one of the best ways to reduce the number of trips you have to make to your spot. The Bushnell wildlife camera solar panel extends the battery life of your wildlife camera by months! Use the included adjustable screw mount to mount it near your camera. Attach the form-fitting cables and you're done!
The Bushnell Solar Panel accessory serves as an additional power source for all current camera models in the Trophy Cam HD Aggressor, Trophy Cam HD Aggressor Wireless, Impulse, Core, CelluCore and Prime series. When the solar panel is mounted near your camera and connected to the external power input jack, you will find that your camera's batteries last much longer before they need to be replaced. The solar panel has an internal lithium-ion energy core that is continuously charged by the solar cells when exposed to the sun. Once connected, the camera draws power from the solar panel's charged lithium battery for as long as possible and only switches to the internal batteries when the solar panel's battery charge is too low. This significantly extends the life of the camera's batteries.
Charging the solar panel via USB
The solar panel also has a USB port that allows you to "pre-charge" the internal power core before use in the field via a computer's USB port or a similar USB power source. This is NOT required before use, but allows you to provide additional power to your camera immediately instead of waiting for the solar cells to charge sufficiently.
To use this feature, connect the solar panel to your computer or a suitable power source using a compatible USB mini cable (not included). The charge indicator LED on the back of the solar panel will light up red during charging and then turn green when charging is complete.
Mounting and camera connection
A mounting bracket is supplied with the solar panel. The bracket should first be screwed into the tree above the camera in a position where the solar panel is exposed to the sun for most of the day. Once the swivel head is securely attached to the tree mount, connect the threaded bolt at the end of the swivel head to the mounting socket (brass 1/4" x 20) on the back of the solar panel. Then loosen the swivel head knob and position the solar panel so that the solar cells are facing the sun. After alignment, tighten both clamping rings. Finally, attach the supplied cable to both the solar panel and the camera and tie it securely.
