The best view of the night sky is far away from artificial lighting. Unfortunately, there are no power sockets there. But that doesn't mean you have to forego the convenience of a GoTo mount! With the Omegon Pro Powerbank, you can operate your telescope mount all night long.
The Pro Powerbank contains a LiFePO4 (lithium iron phosphate) battery.LiFePO4 has significant advantages over regular lithium-ion batteries and outdated lead-acid batteries: unlike outdated lead-acid batteries, the Powerbank is smaller and lighter. Furthermore, aLiFePO4 battery does not contain any toxic heavy metals!
Compared to other lithium-ion batteries, LiFePO4 batteries are more robust and reliable:
- During discharge, the voltage remains significantly more stable at around 12V.
- Drastically reduced risk of ignition and explosion.
- Long shelf life, even years without use have no negative effects.
- Stable performance, even after hundreds of charging cycles.
The Omegon Pro Powerbank is available in two sizes:
Versatile connections and functions
A display shows the current charge status of the power bank. It can be easily charged using the supplied power pack. If you have a solar panel with an output voltage of 12 to 24 volts, you can also use it for charging. The power bank already has an integrated MPPT charge controller (Maximum Power Point Tracking).
The Pro Powerbank is of course compatible with USB Power Delivery – charging and discharging are possible between 5 and 20 volts.
All mounts or instruments with a cigarette lighter cable can be connected. The DC connection is not only used to charge the power bank. It can also be switched on as an output for 12 volts or 24 volts. Adaptors for various barrel connectors are included.
The integrated protection against short circuits, overcharging, deep discharge and overload not only protects the power bank itself, but also the connected mount.
When the night of observation is over, double-tap the button to switch on the super-bright LED light. This ensures that no small parts are left behind on the ground.
