iScope for infectious diseases
Access to accurate, reliable diagnostic methods is crucial in the global fight against infectious diseases. For this reason, Euromex has developed two special versions of the renowned iScope, which are specifically tailored to the examination of tuberculosis (TB) and malaria.Fluorescence microscopy enables faster and more efficient TB screening, as the bacilli fluoresce very brightly in a large field of view (400x magnification). It is also more sensitive than conventional ZN, TST, IGRA or molecular tests, especially when the bacilli load is low. The higher speed and detection rate are cost-effective and lead to better results.
iScope for tuberculosis screening – fluorescence (IS.3152-PLi/TB & IS.3153-PLi/TB)
This model was developed for the detection of Mycobacterium tuberculosis and features a powerful LED fluorescence illumination system optimised for auramine O staining techniques. Its high-contrast optics and ergonomic design enable long screening sessions with minimal fatigue, making it ideal for laboratories and decentralised testing programmes.
iScope for Malaria Screening - Ziehl-Neelsen (ZN) Microscopy (IS.1152-PLi/TM & IS.1153-PLi/TM)
Specially designed bright field microscopes for examining Giemsa-stained and Ziehl-Neelsen smears, as well as for general laboratory use. This version of the iScope ensures accurate detection of Plasmodium parasites at every stage of development. It also performs excellently in Ziehl-Neelsen microscopy. ZN-stained samples of acid-fast bacilli (AFB) enable rapid diagnosis in a reliable environment.

Head
- Siedentopf-type binocular and trinocular heads with 30° inclined tubes. Eye relief from 48 to 76 mm.
- The trinocular head of the plan-infinity corrected models has a beam splitter (100:0 / 50:50) and ± 5 dioptre adjustments on both Ø 30 mm tubes.
- A unique rotation system allows ergonomic positioning of both tubes in a high (431 mm) and low (397 mm) position.
- The trinocular head is equipped with a Ø 23.2 mm photo port.
- An ergonomic head is also available on request: 5 to 35° tiltable head, supplied with EWF 10x/22 mm eyepieces, interpupillary distance 48-75 mm and optional photo attachment with standard Ø 23.2 mm tube (infinity-corrected models only)
lenses
These iScope microscopes are supplied with 4x, 10x, 40x and 100x plan-infinity corrected lenses with oil immersion capability. The 40x and 100x PLI lenses are designed for use without cover glasses. The same lenses with cover glass correction are available on request. Optional objectives can be found in the accessories section. All optics are treated to be fungus-resistant and feature an anti-reflective coating.

Microscope stage
187/230 x 140 mm microscope stage with double slide holder and integrated 79 x 52 mm XY cross stage. The iScope without protruding rack has no protruding parts, enables smoother movements and is safer.
Condenser for bright field
The standard height-adjustable Abbe condenser N.A. 1.25 for bright field is compatible with phase contrast sliders, which are suitable for IOS 10x/20x or S40x/S100x plan phase lenses for economical phase contrast. The condenser has a magnification indicator. A simple dark field slider for dark field up to a total magnification of 400x is also available.
Focus
Coaxial coarse and fine drive adjustments, 200 μm fine drive, 2 μm accuracy, total distance approx. 24 mm. Supplied with an adjustable height stop to prevent damage to the sample and objective. The coarse drive is equipped with friction control.
ICARE SENSOR
The unique iCare Sensor was developed to prevent unnecessary energy consumption. The lighting on the microscope switches off automatically after a certain period of time if the user moves away.
