Aneroid barometer for measuring absolute atmospheric air pressure. Precision measuring mechanism with 5-fold aneroid dosing set made of copper-beryllium alloy, self-stable.
- Measuring range 890 to 1050 hPa
- Measuring accuracy ± 0.7 hPa
- Scale division 0.5 hPa.
The aneroid capsules are virtually free of ageing, hysteresis and elastic after-effect. The influence of temperature on the capsule set and the transmission system is compensated by a bimetal across the entire measuring range and in a temperature range from -30 to +40 °C. The capsule stroke is transmitted to the pointer axis by means of a drive and segment with extremely fine teeth. All bearings are finely polished. Thanks to the advantageous design of the linkage and bearings, the instruments exhibit only minimal static friction.
Polished brass case, diameter 165 millimetres, mineral glass cover.
"Fischer aneroid from Germany, with a 5.5" dial and a 5-cell movement, is among the best of the aneroids available today. This instrument has an accuracy of better than +|-0.7 mb over its full working range of 890 to 1050 mb. Fischer aneroids have been used at sea for 60 years."
