The TSMKOLLI optical LED collimator contains an achromatic objective lens inside, which can be used with an additional eyepiece or an astronomical camera. It works like a small optical tube inside the focuser. Four LEDs form a series of concentric lights on each optical surface of the telescope. The mirror surfaces emit bright lights, the lens surfaces emit weak lights. In this way, the collimator objectively and clearly shows the collimation status of the telescope and allows for quick correction.
The aluminium body has two plug-in sleeves for 2" and 1.25" with filter threads inside. This allows you to use the collimator with all types of telescope extensions. It is also equipped with a simple threaded extension for eyepieces or cameras. You can use a 1.25" eyepiece to observe the image. Depending on the type of optical system and the focal length of the telescope, you will need to select the optimal magnification. You can also install an astronomical camera and display the image on your computer screen.
With the collimator, you can also detect play in the mechanics of the telescope and evaluate its effect on collimation. Even the slightest displacement of the focuser or optical elements, such as the primary mirror in SC telescopes, is quickly noticeable and changes the image produced by the collimator. All this allows you to optimally adjust the telescope for observations or astrophotography.
Please note: The LED collimator is powered by a 12-volt power supply (2.5x5.5 mm socket) and does not work with batteries. The required 12V power pack for the power supply is not included in the delivery!
