More about the series EAGLE...
The EAGLE system is a computer for all aspects of astrophotography. It is universally applicable and so compact that it can be mounted directly on the telescope: EAGLE is an integral part of the system consisting of tripod, mount and telescope. The computer moves with the telescope, ensuring short cable lengths without cable breaks and trip hazards.
EAGLE controls the camera and other accessories and supplies all systems with power. You can control all your equipment wirelessly via WLAN with EAGLE using your Smartphone, tablet or laptop. EAGLE is based on Windows 10. With EAGLE, you can use a wide range of programs, for example: Cartes du Ciel, PHD2 Guiding, BackyardEOS, BackyardNIKON, MaximDL, Voyager.
What does EAGLE do?
- Control of the mount using planetarium software: The EAGLE control unit comes with pre-installed planetarium software that allows you to control ASCOM-compatible mounts.
- Camera control: Install the Windows software for your camera on EAGLE, then you can control the camera with EAGLE and save a cable connection. You can view the images on the device you use to control EAGLE (smartphone, tablet, laptop) or save them directly to a USB stick for later image processing.
- Autoguider: The tried-and-tested PHD2Guiding software is pre-installed on the EAGLE computer. This software allows for easy autoguiding with common mounts and cameras. Here, too, you can monitor the guiding wirelessly via WLAN on your smartphone, tablet or laptop.
- Expandable with additional software: EAGLE runs on Windows, so you can also install and use other Windows programmes.
What are the advantages of EAGLE?
- Easy to use: No cable clutter or breakage, instead wireless control with a WiFi-enabled device of your choice (also via Ethernet). It doesn't matter which operating system your smartphone, etc. runs on. Simply install the EAGLE app. The Windows 10 Enterprise operating system used in EAGLE runs much more stably than on normal PCs and does not require ventilation, which is noticeable in the battery life.
- High efficiency: EAGLE supplies the telescope accessories with power. EAGLE's energy management ensures that you can get by with a significantly smaller battery. EAGLE requires an input voltage of 12V, as supplied by the power tanks. EAGLE then supplies your mount and accessories centrally via output sockets. The plugs for the power supply are screwed in place so that no cables can come loose.
- Versatile mounting options: Use the PLUS system from PrimaLuceLab or tube clamps and prism rails from other manufacturers to mechanically integrate EAGLE into your system. The stable housing of EAGLE is absolutely torsion-resistant!
Please note: EAGLE is supplied without any cables, as it will be tailored to your system. Look for the appropriate cables under "Recommended Accessories" or let us know your components (mount, power supply, camera, guiding camera). The price for these cables is not included in the price of EAGLE.
