The DDM160 is ASA's flagship product and is THE observatory mount!
The 160 mm thick hollow axles and direct driveswith several hundred Newton metres of torque have resulted in one of the most stable observatory mounts of our time!
The ASA DDM160 also looks great, as the exterior has been finished with a high-quality carbon fibre shell!
The DDM160 was designed as a trunnion mount. As the dimensions are customised, the trunnion can be precisely tailored to the installation site.
In addition to its incredible load capacity of up to 300 kg, its tracking accuracy is unrivalled and can easily be compared to large, modern metre-class telescope systems. In this area, the many years of experience with large telescopes gained by Dipl. Phys. Philipp Keller was again a great help.
The Autoslew software also performs perfectly with this type of mount (as with all other ASA mounts). The ASA DDM160 includes the entire software programme with all options, such as autopointing, precision tracking and Internet remote operation.
All advantages at a glance:

- Absolute encoder on both axes with 0.007" encoder resolution
- Very high accuracy: pointing < 8" RMS, tracking accuracy < 0.25" RMS in 5 minutes (the exact values depend on the rigidity of the telescope)

The DDM160 mount is available in two versions: as a classic equatorial mount or for mounting two parallel instruments (DDM160 Twin). The twin version carries 300 kg on each side.
