Sideres 85 is a very robust and stable mount, ideal for public observatories and similar facilities. The mount is manufactured specifically for you. It is set up by the manufacturer for a flat fee.
A mount, regardless of type, is the heart of a unit consisting of a telescope, mount and tripod. What use is an expensive telescope if it cannot be tracked accurately, if it is prone to vibration, if astrophotography is therefore unsatisfactory or even impossible? For this reason, the Sideres 85 meets the highest standards of quality and precision.
The design of the mount was developed by studying a wide range of newer and older mount types with their advantages and disadvantages. In addition to the precision already mentioned, it should have a high load capacity and still be transportable. The latter had to play a subordinate role in favour of high load capacity. This is not surprising, as only steel, which is first given a coloured powder coating as corrosion protection, is used as the construction material for the mount. This has the advantage of uniform expansion in addition to high strength and formability. It is well known that different materials have different thermal expansion coefficients and can cause unnecessary friction at different temperatures, leading to operating difficulties. The very rigid and stable mount has high vibration damping, which makes long-term astrophotography a breeze. Bronze worm gears and finely adjustable slip clutches allow very accurate positioning and tracking using stepper motors and appropriate controls.
The Sideres 85 mount fully meets your requirement for an appropriate size between telescope and mount, thus offering the most stable and reliable solution for your observatories.
A counterweight (20 kg) is included in the scope of delivery.
