Massimo Riccardi, renowned optics designer from Italy, has designed a 3-lens 0.75x reducer/flattener for APM LZOS apochromatic telescopes, which is also suitable for many apochromats from other manufacturers. The reducer reduces the focal length by a quarter and corrects the image field. Turn your telescope into a fast astrograph!
Mounting: The connection to the telescope and the camera is made via an M63 x 1 thread. For precise adjustment when the reducer/flattener is tilted, you can also use an adjustment flange.
Back focus: The back focus is adjusted depending on the telescope used. Please refer to the PDF document for the exact value for your instrument. The total optical length of the reducer plus back focus plus focus shift is between 160 mm and 180 mm.
For focusers with a clear passage of 68 mm, the reducer can also be recessed into the focuser using an adaptor.
The correction is designed for full frame and is also perfect for the widely used Kodak KAF 8300 chip.
