A coma corrector is a corrective lens for Newtonian telescopes. This type of telescope can cause distortion of the image at the edge of the field of view, making stars look like little comets. This aberration is therefore called 'coma'.
The corrector can be used on all Newtonian telescopes with a 3" focuser. It can be clamped directly using a 3" clamping sleeve or screwed in place using the M82x1 thread. We recommend the corrector for all Newtonian telescopes with an aperture of 10" or greater.
The corrector provides 100 per cent illumination up to 46 mm whilst delivering excellent correction. A sufficiently large secondary mirror is, of course, a prerequisite. This allows you to use cameras with sensors up to full-frame size. We always recommend focusing on a star in the outer third of the field of view; this ensures excellent sharpness across the entire field.
The corrector features three threads on the camera side for mounting the camera.
