The ZWO 3-inch reducer is suitable for full-frame sensors and designed for the ZWO FF80 Apo. It reduces the original focal length by a factor of 0.76x and flattens the image field. This results in a fast aperture ratio of f/5.7. The reducer consists of an optical design with three elements, including one element made of ED glass. The reducer has a rear connection to which the extension adapter included with the FF80 Apo can be connected. The flange focal distance is 55 mm and the reducer has a built-in 2" filter thread (M48x0.75).
How the connection works
Prepare the FF80APO and the reducer as follows:
- Unscrew the four-segment connection at the end of the FF80APO telescope tube.
- Unscrew the cap of the 0.76x reducer and attach it to the M68 thread of the four-segment connector.
- Then unscrew the front cap of the reducer, insert it into the focuser and tighten it.
