IScopes for fluorescence applications
Fluorescence microscopes are used in biological and medical applications to observe specific parts of living cells and tissues with the aid of fluorophores. One or more fluorophores are added to the parts so that the specimen can be viewed. When the fluorophores are exposed to so-called excitation light, the excitation energy is absorbed by the fluorophores, causing them to emit so-called emission light, which can be observed through the microscope. It is possible to distinguish tumour cells from other cells, prove the presence or absence of antibodies, etc.
The excellent optics and mechanical components make the iScope a state-of-the-art microscope suitable for fluorescence applications in life science and biotechnology.
