Unlike conventional Crayford or rack and pinion drives, the micronised gear of this focuser ensures completely smooth movement, completely free of slippage and twist!
Additional features:
- Diamond Steeltrack focusers have a vertical load capacity of 6 kg in the basic setting without slipping and without strong bearing preload (this can even be increased if necessary).
- The bearing system includes indestructible, 10 mm wide roller bearings instead of narrow ball bearings, allowing heavier loads to be carried with maximum precision and torsional rigidity (completely without Teflon).
- 1:10 reduction gear made of stainless steel, prepared for optional Steeldrive motor drive using the toothed fine drive knob for the Steeldrive toothed belt
- Removable drive block for left- or right-handed fine focusing and for connecting the temperature-compensating Steeldrive motor block
- Shortest mechanical design, maintaining the optimum balance between minimum overall length (= gain in back focus) and maximum rigidity
- "Zero-Shift" axis brake for adjusting the braking effect depending on the instrument load – without pressure on the extension tube
