This compact telescope can be used as finder or fast guide scope. The helical focuser allows precise and comfortable focusing.
The 60 mm guide scope from TS Optics is a bright guiding solution for astrophotographers looking for a compact guide scope with a large aperture. With this, you’ll never have any trouble finding a suitable guide star again. The guide scope fits into standard finder holders – there are no mounting issues. Weighing just 563 grams, the guide scope is only slightly heavier than a standard 50 mm finder and places no strain on the telescope or mount.
The TSL60D is also a high-performance finder. Its 60 mm aperture already reveals hundreds of deep-sky objects, and you can clearly see the difference between a globular cluster and a star through the eyepiece. The telescope is a high-performance wide-field refractor. The TSL60D can also be used as a ‘video finder’, for example in remote observatories.
The 1.25"/T2 helical focuser: The 1.25" helical focuser enables precise focusing. The camera or eyepiece does not rotate whilst you are focusing. Once you have achieved optimum sharpness, simply lock the focuser position in place using the knurled screw. This ensures that the focus position is maintained perfectly. The focuser has a combined 1.25" T2 mount on the eyepiece or camera side. You can connect reticle eyepieces or guiding cameras directly.
Using autoguiders with a 1.25" housing, such as the ASI120MINI or Lodestar: The focus is between 3 mm and 13 mm behind the 1.25" connector. This means the sensor would be too far inside. By using standard T2 extensions, which are screwed in between the helical focuser and the tube, you can move the focus point further in to focus easily with MINI guide cameras.
Using autoguiders with a T2 mount: Cameras with a T2 mount and a flange focal distance (distance from the T2 thread to the sensor) of up to 13 mm can be screwed directly onto the Helical’s T2 thread. If cameras with a longer flange focal distance, e.g. 17.5 mm, are used, the 30 mm T2 extension must be replaced with a shorter one. Suitable extensions are linked in the accessories section.
Use as a finder: When viewed head-on, all standard 1.25" eyepieces and reticle eyepieces can be focused without any problems. It is even possible to use zenith mirrors or prisms, provided a short-focus adapter is used.
Suitable for all standard guide scopes, e.g. for Vixen, Celestron, TS Optics, Skywatcher.
