Is this still a guide scope or already an apochromatic refractor? The fact is that the GS61 guidescope contains an FPL-53 glass lens whose outstanding optical properties enable sharp stars for tracking control (guiding). The GS61 can thus be used on refractors with focal lengths from 700 to 1200 millimetres.
With the optional Flat61 flattener, the GS61 can even be used for astrophotography – ideal for use with small camera mounts.
Helical focusing is achieved by moving the dew shield with the integrated lens: loosen the knurled counter ring, move the cap until the focus is achieved and tighten the counter ring again. At the rear end, the GS61 has an extendable extension tube. With the GS61, finding the focus position is really no problem!
