More about the series PF ED...
With the PF-65ED II and PF-65EDa II spotting scopes, Pentax is responding to two demands:
The 65 mm spotting scopes are manufactured to be extremely short and lightweight so that they can also be easily handled by physically weaker people. This ensures optimum transportability.
The other requirement to be met was determined by the market. People have less and less money in their bags. These spotting scopes are affordable for a wide range of buyers without having to sacrifice quality.
The PF-65ED II and PF-65EDa II not only provide ornithologists, hunters and sport shooters with fascinating high-performance spotting scopes. The dedicated amateur astronomer will also be delighted with these easily transportable optics.
The imaging performance can justifiably be described as excellent.
Daytime observations with the pre-series already produced an acceptable image even with focal lengths of around 3.5 mm. Nocturnal, Astronomik observations can still be made well with focal lengths of 5 mm with the surprisingly fast lenses despite their small size. They are therefore not inferior in quality to their larger brothers, the PF-80ED and PF-80EDa.
