The Diascope spotting scope system includes high-performance spotting scopes with excellent image quality, objectives with fluoride-containing glass (FL) in 65 mm or 85 mm diameters, eyepieces and useful accessories for a wide range of applications - including digiscoping.
The top-class optical system, extremely robust construction and precise, lightning-fast functions correspond perfectly to the requirements of observation. Dirt and water-repellent LotuTec® coating on the outer eyepiece and objective lenses.
Outstanding optics
- Special fluoride-containing glass with anomalous partial dispersion for maximum correction of colour aberrations with virtually no colour fringing.
- T multi-layer coating on all glass-air surfaces for a colour-neutral, bright image.
- Phase correction of the roof prisms for maximum detail resolution.
- Good close-up range, ideal for insect watching, e.g. observing butterflies or dragonflies at close range.
- Eyepieces suitable for spectacle wearers with comfortable sliding eyecups.
- Wide-angle eyepieces with very large fields of view.
- Dirt and water repellent LotuTec coating on the outer eyepiece and objective lenses.
- Reliable mechanics
- Separate coarse and fine adjustment for very fast or very sensitive focusing.
- Quick-release bayonet with locking mechanism for the eyepieces.
- Large, rotatable tripod mount for secure and stable attachment to a tripod.
- Extendable lens hood with sighting aid for quick location of objects at high magnifications.
- Filter thread on the lenses for attaching filters.
- Waterproof and nitrogen-filled for fog-free viewing.
These are the new models, starting from 2010.
The main differences to the old model:
This is a completely newly developed DiaScope with key improvements:
- better imaging performance under difficult viewing conditions by reducing stray light
- new innovative Dual Speed Focusing (DSF)
- full rubber armouring
- new design
- eyepiece lock
All eyepieces have a quick-change bayonet fitting with safety lock and can be attached to both the 65mm and the 85mm spotting scopes.
This results in different magnifications, 15-56X for the 65mm and 20-75X for the 85mm spotting scopes
Especially practical zoom eyepiece:
- small magnification for an overall view and for finding the object, then zoom in for more detail.
- no refocusing necessary when zooming from high to low magnification.
- still gives a bright image at twilight at lower magnifications (large AP)
