The Sun Projector
This handy instrument allows several people to observe sunspots, planetary transits and eclipses comfortably and completely safely at the same time. A solar filter is not required because, thanks to a sophisticated optical system , the view is projected onto a screen.
The size of the image of the sun can be selected between 75 or 55 mm and can be viewed at a right angle to the incident sunlight – very practical when the sun is high in the sky! The optics consist of a double-lens glass achromatic lens with a diameter of 30 mm and a focal length of 250 mm, which can be stopped down in 5 steps to 12 mm, an interchangeable lens with 2 convex mirrors with focal lengths of -10 and -14 mm, and a flat mirror made of acrylic glass.
The sun projector is very easy to use: it sits on a Dobson base and can be adjusted to any height between 0° and 90°. Two integrated quadrants allow the height of the sun to be determined.
