However, the rotating star chart is not only a practical aid for orientation in the night sky, but also a real gem with its gold print and artistic cut-outs: it was designed true to the original luxury edition published in 1899 by the royal purveyor F.H. Klodt in Frankfurt and is a beautiful example of the bookbinding art of that era. Only a few copies of the original remain and it is now one of the most sought-after and rare historical star charts.
