Nice But Flawed Design

I like this bracket - the finish and materials are great, but I ultimately had to replace it because, despite it clearly having been designed to allow the side doors to open while the vertical mount is still flush against the camera body, you simply cannot open them without sliding it out the way. This is the case regardless of how far over you attach the vertical mount; it's never enough to allow the doors to open. The Smallrig plate is almost identical in design, except that one allows you to do this. I don't know how they tested this and didn't notice this glaring issue. It's disappointing as I really like most of Leofoto's gear (the MC-100 and MT-02 are invaluable pieces of kit for me), but this isn't worth the money. Unless you never use the side-doors on your camera, go elsewhere.
