No question about it: when shooting with a longer and heavier focal length (which has its own tripod connection) from a tripod, it is extremely useful to support this lens – but at the same time to relieve the camera of additional weight. For the latter, there is an adjustable camera plate with a ¼" screw at the rear end of the lens support. This is screwed into the tripod thread of the camera, which reduces the tensile load on the camera's bayonet mount.
The VR-150LS consists of a 295 mm long rail. The camera support has a height of 34 mm and the lens mount can be adjusted in height between 47 and 67 mm. The camera mount is equipped with an Arca-Swiss coupling that can be used lengthwise or crosswise.
Leofoto uses high-quality 6061-T6 aluminium alloy with magnesium and silicon as alloy components for the metal parts. This corrosion-resistant material is characterised by high strength and good toughness. The yield strength is comparable to that of structural steel. All parts are milled from solid material on state-of-the-art CNC machines and are therefore significantly more stable than cast parts. Leofoto makes no compromises here either !
