The Stickstation contains a reliable sensor package from one of the leading manufacturers, Bosch Sensortek. The sensor measures the values for air pressure, temperature and relative humidity, which the Stickstation processor then calibrates and uses to calculate the dew point.
Application in astronomy: Modern high-end mounts require access to current weather data in order to correctly compensate for the influence of atmospheric refraction. The data must be determined on site and influences both positioning and tracking. For telescopes permanently installed in observatories, we offer weather stations, but none of these are designed for mobile use. The Blue Astro USB weather station can be used flexibly in mobile or stationary applications.
10Micron support: If you own a 10Micron mount and use Frejvall's ASCOM driver, you can continuously and automatically update the refraction parameters of your mount.
For Microsoft Windows, a program is included that manages the stick station, stores the data and displays it in a graphical user interface (see screenshot). Please note that there is currently no separate software for Mac or Linux. However, users with knowledge of scripting languages can still read and reuse the data.
