Benny Rebel Edition Desert Kit
The idea came from the famous wildlife photographer Benny Rebel. The photographer, known for his many desert and safari pictures, initiated this further development for FLM tripods. To pay tribute to him, these special locking twist handles bear his name.
These aluminium handles are covered with rubber sleeves and absorb vibrations, thus preventing the tripod legs from coming loose on the roof of a safari vehicle. A felt seal is integrated inside the handles to protect the threads from sand and dirt. This felt seal is easy to replace and is more durable than rubber seals, as felt cannot tear.
The only thing you have to do without when converting your tripod is the sliding "falling out" of the tripod legs, as this seal provides greater resistance and thus prevents the legs from "falling out" on their own when the handles are opened.
This set is for all CP30 tripods with 3 tube segments.
Sealed twist locks for upgrading for desert use
With this FLM desert kit, the CP-30 L Pro tripod with a tube diameter of 30 mm can be upgraded for use in the desert, on the beach or in other sandy locations. The sealed twist locks included in this kit replace the twist locks originally mounted on the leg segments. The sealed twist locks have a felt coating on the contact surface with the tripod segment, which effectively prevents sand from entering the tripod's telescopic linkage. This ensures that the twist locks and leg segments continue to operate smoothly even in sandy conditions and prevents damage to the tripod.
Desert kit developed exclusively for Benny Rebel
This desert kit was developed by FLM exclusively for the well-known wildlife photographer Benny Rebel. The aim was to develop a kit that would allow an FLM camera tripod to be easily upgraded for use in deserts. After the desert kit proved itself in use on Benny Rebel's trips to Africa, every photographer can now benefit from it.
Rubber grip surface for ideal grip and anti-shock lock system to prevent accidental release.
The twist locks are made of high-quality aluminium and, unlike the original twist locks, have a textured rubber grip surface for a better hold. Like the original twist locks, the sealed twist locks feature a special locking mechanism that allows the individual twist locks to be opened and locked quickly with just one hand. The anti-shock lock system prevents accidental release.
