It is not easy to point an SLR camera at the desired object at night. Unless you have very bright objects such as the moon, planets or bright stars, neither looking through the camera viewfinder nor using Live View on the camera will help. With this adaptor, you can attach point-and-shoot viewfinders from Celestron, Skywatcher or Omegon to the hot shoe.
To adjust the finder, point the camera at a distant object during the day. A power pole, church tower or antenna are perfectly adequate for this. Adjust the finder using its adjustment wheel so that it is aligned with the same object as the camera lens. The finder and camera are now mounted parallel to each other for night-time use.
The adaptor fits all conventional DSLR cameras from Canon, Nikon, Fuyi, Sony, etc.
The item is manufactured using a 3D printing process from special PLA (polylactide). This variant of PLA plastic is UV-resistant and dimensionally stable up to 110°C.
