The premium prism clamp, suitable for Vixen/SkyWatcher and other compatible prism rails, is CNC-machined. The prism clamp has an improved fastening element that distributes the load away from the fixing screw. You can see this clearly in the picture on the right: the two guide rails are visible on the brass insert.
The clamp is very narrow, so it is not possible to swing the prism rail into it; it must be inserted from below or above. The screws in the prism rail must therefore not protrude!
The prism clamp has a 1/4" thread in the centre and countersunk mounting holes so that not only astronomical equipment but also outdoor equipment can be attached. It is fully Takahashi compatible, with two holes for M8 at a distance of 35 mm. The clamp therefore fits the Takahashi EM-11 and EM-200 mounts, as well as the top plates of Takahashi telescopes with double tube clamps.
