The Antlia OIII EDGE narrowband filter is optimised for a wavelength of 4.5 nm. Excellent transmission properties have been integrated into the 4.5 nm EDGE narrowband filters. As a result, these filters deliver a better SNR (signal-to-noise ratio) and better contrast in your images.
The Antlia OIII 4.5nm EDGE filters are designed to provide 85% transmission at 500.7nm, giving you maximum signal to capture the faintest OIII nebula structures. Conventional broadband narrowband filters cause a significant loss of transmission due to the strong "centre wavelength shift". With a transmission of over 85%, these OIII 4.5nm EDGE narrowband filters can be used for work with long focal lengths and fast optical systems (e.g. RASA). The blue shift data shows that the Antlia 4.5nm EDGE filters can be used with almost all systems with an aperture ratio of f/3 with minimal loss of the emission signal.
