Modern autoguiders such as the Lacerta M-Gen are very powerful and offer high resolution. For telescopes with an aperture of up to 8", even a 50 mm finder is sufficient for clean tracking in conjunction with an autoguider. This saves you having to use a heavy guide scope or the complicated adaptation with an off-axis guider. For telephoto lenses, even a small 30 mm finder, which is often lying around in a drawer, is sufficient.
Simply remove the eyepiece from the finder bracket (you can just unscrew it) and screw in the parfocal adaptor instead. The connection thread on the finder side is M29.5x0.75. Then you can screw on the M-Gen autoguider, for example, and get started. Your finder becomes a compact guide scope.
Focusing is done directly via the knurled ring on the objective lens of the finder.
Suitable for all straight viewfinders 9x50, 8x59 and 6x30 from Skywatcher and Orion USA and for the TS 9x50 finder and older Celestron 50 mm finders.
