This filter is optimised for photography in the deep UV spectral range. A breakthrough for photographs of the planet Venus! It enables amateur astronomers to document cloud structures in the atmosphere of Venus for the first time. The filter only allows the ultraviolet spectral range to pass through, which is the key to photographing structures in the atmosphere of Venus.
Non-astronomical applications are also possible, e.g. checking paint damage, determining the health of plants and much more.
A UV-sensitive camera is of course required for successful use of the filter .
The filter blocks the entire spectral range from 200 nm to 1120 nm outside the central wavelength. It has a 40-layer dielectric coating on Schott glass UG-11.
Filter mounted in Baader Low Profile Filter Cell (LPFC)
