The SkySurfer V can even be used as a solar finder! You can safely aim at the sun with this finder. This is very helpful, because finding the sun is more difficult than you might think. After all, you should not look at the sun with the naked eye if possible.
The SkySurfer V has a fixed spring cover instead of a dust cap, which always gets lost anyway. Please remove this cover for night-time use. The spring cover has a tiny opening. If you leave the cover on during the day, sunlight will shine through the opening onto a small insertable matte screen with a crosshair. This allows you to safely aim at the sun and use your telescope, hopefully protected with AstroSolar film, for solar observation.
The SkySurfer V has 40 mm long dew shields that protect it from fogging. The glass surfaces are anti-reflective, ensuring maximum transmission. The brightness of the red dot is variable.
