SMARTOSCOPE VARIO II: Even a product that is already very good can be improved.
The new VARIO II now uses an extremely stable plastic called POM-C as the material for the base body, instead of aluminium.
This reduces the weight of the adapter (without adapter ring) from approximately 156 g to approximately 117 g.
In addition, we have added a rubber pad to the pressure area for the Opti karm and incorporated a rubber disc into the base body. This reduces unintentional movement of the Opti karm to an absolute minimum.

It offers a truly universal Smartphone digiscoping solution with maximum convenience and is also very easy to use.
The SMARTOSCOPE VARIO II adaptor can accommodate most smartphone models of all brands, even if the phone is still in a dust cover. Large and small smartphones are attached to the adaptor with an adjustable clamp mount.
If your Smartphone has multiple objectives, you can choose which objective to use by aligning the optical rail with the desired objective for full creative control.
THE HEART OF SM VARIO - THE ADJUSTABLE OPTICAL ARM
The precise optical arm is used to align the smartphone camera lens with the eyepiece of the spotting scope. Once in the desired position, you can lock the optical arm with the fixing screw to secure it. Once fixed, it stays perfectly in position.
The optical arm accepts special eyepiece rings for ultimate "push-on" convenience on your eyepiece. Individual solutions are available for Kowa, Swarovski, ZEISS and Leica, as well as a universal eyepiece ring for all other brands.
ADAPTER FEATURES AT A GLANCE
- A universal adaptor made of aluminium
- The flexibly adjustable optics arm allows the smartphone lens to be perfectly aligned with the spotting scope or binocular eyepiece.
- The K30 optical arm has a 30 mm screw thread for attaching individual eyepiece adapter rings, the UR-4 universal ring or KM30 adapter plates for connecting original Swarovski or ZEISS adapter rings.
- The functional fixing screw secures the optical arm reliably in the position you have set.
- The clamp mount is even suitable for very large smartphone models. In most cases, the smartphone can remain in its protective cover.
- The clamping wheel secures the smartphone.
- The clamp holder and clamp stop are angled to hold the smartphone securely in position without slipping. Protective rubber is used on all important contact surfaces to prevent friction between the smartphone and the VARIO-ADAPTER and to ensure a stable hold without damaging the smartphone.
- The contact surface has two recessed rubber strips that serve both as slip protection and as a housing-friendly contact surface.
