Finding the sun with a telescope sounds easier than it is. Using the finder scope is not an option, as most people do not have a solar filter for the finder.
With this useful accessory, however, that's no problem: a pinhole aperture creates an image of the sun on a screen. This allows you to see that your telescope is pointed at the sun. The solar finder is simply attached to the tube with Velcro tape.
Please note: For a complete solar finder, you will need the upper part (screws included) and a suitable base:
- Small base, ideal for tubes with a diameter of 44 to 110 millimetres (maximum 150 mm)
- Large base, ideal for tubes with a diameter of 105 to 250 millimetres (maximum 300 mm)
The Velcro tape for attachment is included in the scope of delivery of the base.
You will find the "Small base" and "Large base" under "Recommended accessories".
