China's rise from a developing country in space flight to a superpower in space has been breathtakingly fast. China has only been conducting manned space flights since 2003, but today the country is already on a par with the USA and Russia. Moon and Mars missions are planned.
Nevertheless, surprisingly little is known about Chinese space flight. This book will change that: it describes the history of Chinese space flight from its beginnings to the present day and ventures a look at future projects and activities. The political aspects are not neglected either.
The author Eugen Reichl was a long-time employee of a major international manufacturer of launch vehicles and space flight propulsion systems. He is the author of numerous highly regarded publications on space flight and space flight history.
