With the tele adaptor for Canon 300/400/500/600/800 mm IS II and 400/600 mm IS I mm and the Berlebach interchangeable plates (see "Recommended accessories"), Canon telephoto lenses can be used on all UniQ/C and Arca Swiss compatible quick-release systems.
Replacing the bulky original base with the Berlebach telephoto adaptor, which is significantly lower in height, reduces the space required, making Canon telephoto lenses much easier to pack for transport. In addition, the compact design of the Berlebach adaptor significantly reduces possible vibrations and improves handling thanks to an optimised centre of gravity.
To use the adaptor, the four screws on the original Canon base must be loosened with an M3 Allen key. The Berlebach adaptor is then attached to the lens using the same screws. The interchangeable plate is then attached to the adaptor using two 1/4" or one central 3/8" coin slot screw(s). When using an original Berlebach interchangeable plate, the adaptor engages in the profile of the plate so that the combination can be attached to a tripod head in the lens axis in a completely twist-proof manner. Depending on the length of the interchangeable plate, it can be moved forwards and backwards to balance the weight both when attached to the adaptor and in the respective quick-change system. When using UniQ/C interchangeable plates from other manufacturers, the latter advantages may be limited!
Note: If you have the 500 mm IS I, please indicate this in the comments field when ordering. The adaptor has a different drill hole spacing for this telephoto lens.
