Some time ago, APM Telescopes introduced the coma-correcting 2.7x Barlow lens designed by Gerd Düring. This has proved very popular.
Our customers wanted a second version in a 2-inch design with a smaller magnification factor. APM Telescopes took this to heart and had the renowned physicist and optical designer Philipp Keller calculate a 1.5x Barlow.
All of today's knowledge has been incorporated into this new design in order to optimise it. The telecentric design prevents the need to adjust each eyepiece to the correct distance; simply insert the eyepiece into the 2-inch plug-in sleeve and you automatically have the optimum distance.
The design was again calculated with a large back focus so that it can be used as an optical glass path corrector with coma-correcting effect on the binocular attachment.
The sufficient back focus allows the use of off-axis guiders + filter wheel + CCD for photography with a full-frame sensor.
- Connection thread: M54 x 0.75 external thread and M48 x 0.75 internal thread on the eyepiece/CCD side
- Fully corrected field: 44 mm
- Fully illuminated field: 30 mm
