The Leofoto GC-282AL is an aluminium extension arm with gear adjustment. It is attached to the tripod in place of the existing head and replaces the existing head, which is then attached to the end of the arm.
The arm has a handle at the rear end, which also serves as a combined lock for the pan and tilt functions. At the end there is a locking disc that prevents slipping in the upright position and a friction adjustment for adjusting the tension of the gear.
This extension arm features an ingenious new mechanism that combines a gear column with a 180-degree tilt arm and 360-degree horizontal swivel. Operation is quick and easy: a single turn of the handle at the end of the boom loosens both the tilt and rotation, and when the arm is in the desired position, simply turn the handle in the opposite direction to activate the lock and secure the arm in place.
The gear adjustment of the arm extension ensures precise control and makes it particularly useful for macro work, where you may need to move the camera only slightly backwards or forwards.
Leofoto uses high-quality 6061-T6 aluminium alloy with magnesium and silicon as alloy components for the metal parts. This corrosion-resistant material is characterised by high strength and good toughness. The yield strength is comparable to that of structural steel. All parts are milled from solid material on state-of-the-art CNC machines and are therefore significantly more stable than cast parts. Leofoto makes no compromises here either !
